Swarovski tripod vs Outdoorsmans tripod?
« on: March 03, 2016, 03:40:24 PM »
I am leaning towards the outdoorsmans medium tripod package that comes with the Pan Head and oudoorsmans rifle rest. But didn't know if anyone is using the Swaro tripod? I just picked up a Swaro 65 HD ATS and need the tripod now. I know Karl you told me to buy the tripod first but I got too good of a deal on the glass.

You can save money by doing research. A lot of the Swarovski tripods are actually Manfrotto tripods rebranded.

Go outdoorsmans and never ever look back.  Heavy price tag but absolutely worth every single penny.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

I have a Swarovski tripod that I use with my STS 80. It's awesome and steady. But only use it if I'm glassing  for antelope in  WY or short hikes, or I'm close to the truck. It's a heavy sucker and would get heavy after awhile.

Outdoorsman.......without a doubt. I should add that I have  never used the Swarovski tripod so I will not  comment on it. Again, outdoorsman..

I picked up a recommended manfrotta head and the thing has like a solid lemon-sized hunk of steel for the head.  wth ? surprised its not hollow or of something lighter.  Im sure it helps steady it but counting ounces theres quite a few there.
