Where do you guys usually find your parts? Brownells, midway? Or more from specific companies sites? Any tools or building kits I should get first?

As far as parts go, you can find them all over the internet.  Even Ebay and Amazon have some stuff.  Shop around and figure out what you want and then shop for the best price online.  An AR-15 armorers wrench will be useful and probably a vise block for the upper receiver to attach the barrel.

I'm building my first as well. Been getting most my parts from palmetto state armory
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

When I had trouble finding a few of the parts for my build, I came across this site. It's a pretty awesome resource. http://arpartsfinder.com/

If you have time to drive down to Tacoma, Surplus Arms and Ammo has everything you need to put one together.  Their parent company Aero Precision makes the SAA uppers and lowers here in town.  I have an 18 "BHW and the accuracy is impressive; it loves   factory 123 grain Hornady sst's.  I have a hard time doing any better with my hand loads.

Thanks doubletall .good to know there's something close in a pinch. Also nice to know factory loads are good quality as I don't do any reloading.

I shoot the Hornady 123 gr. A-Max boat tails and get very tight groups.

Primaryarms.com has a great selection.  Shipping is lightning fast, 2-3 days on most orders.

I guess starting with a lower and upper is the best place to start? Triggers?

I have a RRA 2-stage match trigger. I like it.

Receiver sets are definitely where you should start.  I have a Wilson Combat TTU single stage in my bench gun and it is an excellent trigger.

I would order the barrel/bolt carrier the very first thing. BHW took about 5 months for mine. Other specialty barrel makers will be under similar pressure with all the gun control talk about. Everything else seems readily available except for possibly the stock if it's high end.
