I was wondering about doing a shore lunch up the Palouse one day next year, there is a couple of spots we could get several boats to shore

Like one day during the catfishing event or just another random day?

I was wonder if i can get some good info here for catfishing the snake river especually around the poluse river. When is the best time of year to go. And where is a good spot to bank fish on the poluse. And also what is a good bait to use. And is it best to fish at night? Hopeing to get some good feed back.

Thinking of going to the Palouse River for a few days in about a month and don't think the KOA will have any spots to stay. Any body have any ideas on where to stay near by camping or at a motel. Never been over there and want to try for some catfish. Also if you use the KOA to launch is there any time restrictions for launching or fees. Looks like the state launch is a time from i believe 7-7 day use only prohibiting night fishing. Thanks for any help. It should be pretty cool trip if i can plan it right.

Cool thanks guys. The website said the koa was all booked but i gave them a call and they ended up with 1 tent site left. Im all set for camping. Now just have to pack everything and start preping for the trip. Hope my schedule dont change for work. If that stays the same it will be a good trip. This will be the first trip taking my boat on a river so it will be interesting. I will be using a 16 foot semi v john boat with a 25 horse mercury prop. Good boat that should be able to run shallow enough throuhout most the areas.

Thanks for the tip.
Do you feel going further up in the boat is typically better for cats, or staying out on the flats? I hear fishing really shallow is best. Under 4 feet. Gonna have plenty of worms and gonna stop and gather some cut bait the day before to ensure i have some when i get there. But whats everyones favorite baits? I hear of a lot of baits to use for cats but local favorites are always prefered.

Also is there a lot of carp in the area to bring the bow or should that just be left at home?

Thanks for the tips

I use trout that I've caught. Cut it into about two inches. No weight. Stay fairly shallow. You'll see carp fins everywhere. The cats are eatingbtheir eggs a lot. But find a calm spot and make a splash. They come over to investigate. Then set the hook.
