@JJB11B  got a pic of it? Grew up in the midwest and fat carp 9n ultralight gear is very nostalgic for me.

Biggest Carp I’ve ever caught. Just up the snake from the Palouse. Use to fish cat there every Memorial Weekend.

I know exactly where that is, that's a great spot across the mouth of the "little river" river is a huge mud flat

I think that was my first year fishing Cat. That was on our bait pole that we were fishing for peamouth and squaw fish to cut up. Catching that carp and dragging it across the mud on an ultra-lite was a kick in the pants. Buddies-Moms-Boyfriend  :o had a boat that he and buddies brother would fish out of, while buddy and I were left to the bank. Buddy got a boat from a coworker that year (for free) and we were off the bank after that. I think we pulled more fish off the bank though!  :dunno:

If you fish that area at all it is very recognizable and not much of a secret... why I wasn't too worried about posting a picture.  ;)

Went up the Palouse River yesterday, surface watertemp was 63 degrees according to my stuff. water was clean looking too, wind was blowing hard enough that my anchors kept pulling free

it was blowing so hard I left, no fish only got about 20-30 minutes of actually fishing in, I was by myself and fighting the wind trying to anchor up, or use my trollling motor. I got too frustrated and headed home

I’ll be over June 20-23! What size line and hooks does everyone recommend? Never caught a “real” cat

Scott from YJ took my dad and I out a few weeks ago. Had a good time but the cats weren't interested. Scott switched us up on the fly for some action and the walleye were biting good.

The cabins were real nice!

There is more wooden debris in the snake and inside the mouth of the Palouse than I have ever seen before, I wine yesterday and there were ski boats and jet skis and kayaks everywhere and it made fishing it a pain

  :yeah:
I'm working in Lewiston this week and the river seems to be moving fast and has alot of debris from what I can see. That's probably not helping the temperature come up for catfishing... :dunno:
