Cabin in hawk creek got robbed
« on: March 06, 2016, 08:53:10 PM »
Man, what a bummer. Took the wife and kids over to my buddys cabin friday for the weekend to have a nice relaxing weekend.
Ended up having to fix the window and try to figure out everything we lost. We still had a good time and actually was kind of good for my kids to experience so they understand what its like, but frustrating.
Unlocked the front door and walked in and noticed the dead bolt was unlocked to the back door and thought that was kind of weird.Maybe my buddy who owns the cabin son left it unlocked.Opened the back door walked out on the back deck and looked down the steps and saw glass on the ground under the bedroom window and new right away what was up.
They actually broke the corner of the window out reached through and opened the window, took the screen out and climbed in then replaced the screen.Didn't leave a thing out of place inside.
They stole all our food and cups which was probably 4-5 big totes worth. We had a big apple box full of ammo, mostly 12 guage turkey loads,22lr,and all our turkey calls and other misc.Lots of other stuff like both axes, the power inverter. But mostly stuff you would use to live off of in your own cabin.Crazy thing was They left the nice two burner portable oven which i brought home with me since they will probably be back.I'm thinking they made at least three to four trips in there since they cant drive to it.They had to pack all of it out on foot.
If anybody over by davenport hears of anybody sporting a lot of new to them turkey hunting stuff and a cabin full of food send me a pm Id like to meet them.
All in all its not a big deal but man i hate thieves! Just lazy people that think they have a right to our stuff.

Sorry to hear about the break-in, I really hate thieves.  I am glad that no one was home when it happened you may consider putting up a handful of trail cameras around there.  Often times its someone in the immediate area that does these types of crimes.  You may end up recognizing one of the neighbor kid's, or the like if you do get some images of them.  At any rate if you do get some pics I would post them everywhere in the surrounding area, someone knows the people who are doing this.
