Porcupine hunting regs?

Does anyone know the rules on taking down a porcupine? Any info would be great cant find anything on WDFW website. Thanks for your time guys.

They're not a protected species so there are no regulations on killing them.

Bobcat is right, they are listed as an unclassified animal. Thus allowing us to hunt or trap them all year long with no bag limits.

If you like rabbit, you will probably like porcupine. Tough to skin.    Note the compressed/wide rib cage for gettting closer to a tree trunk for climbing.

I had a grandma that would cook whatever my dad brought her, porcupine, woodchuck, whatever, and it does not taste bad in spaghetti sauce-kinda stringy meat.

The good thing beside eating them (I never had one but heard from people that said they taste good) is that they are worth money. 

Here's how:
Guard-hair is sold by length and ounces at State Trappers Fur Sales.
Buyers want 7" or longer Guard-hair.  Anything smaller doesn't sell.
There was a sale in Athol, ID a couple of weeks ago that the guard hair went for $11.09 oz.
Last year Oregon Trappers Association Fur Sale it went for $21.56 oz.
Quails get up to $20.00 per pound
Skulls are worth $5.00 uncleaned and $25.00-$35.00 cleaned

So when you see one of these guys think of this first than ........................... pull the trigger

In some areas it is "True Spike" porcupine only. This means the quills must be at least as long as a railroad spike...thus the "True Spike " regulation. This is for quills only ..DO NOT count the "guard" hairs near the quills. ... And never tell someone that you shot a Hog or monster or a beast of a porcupine. Also never say your porcupine had giant Guard hair. It only makes it look like you are trying to make your porcupine look bigger. Hope all this info helps in your quest for the prickly beast.
