Opening day hunt
« on: August 02, 2013, 10:20:43 AM »
Ok long story short. I'm out before light and on my way to the perfect spot. Get into position looking at few year old cut facing south. Covered with ripe berries. So many I'm getting full eating them while glassing for hours.  The day begins to end...still nothing anywhere. At 4 pm I get a text from my wife. Huge black bear 50 yards off of my back deck. On all 4 's she says its taller than my 11 year old daughter.  Huge head she says. Beautiful black coat with white on its chest. Uhhhggg! I see nothing in a prime spot with great food source. However, monster is out my back door out in the open with no real great food source on opening day! That's my luck. Always in the wrong place at the right time.

Yeah, isn't that funny. How many of us have deer eating our garden all summer, and then head out to the woods to hunt deer?

Do you normally have bruins cruising your back yard?
