Points only for me this year.  I need to save vacation time for Wyoming after drawing an elk tag.

I'm in!  Some areas got hit hard in the winter, others didn't, thankfully mine didn't.  Looking forward to heading to Colorado this fall.

I was going to try and go this year, but I've decided to plan on next year. I'll admit, I liked the later dates starting this year, but its only one day earlier next year.

The last reset was 2010.   I was there in 2010 and 2011, and 2011 was incredible.   The first couple of years give you the best chance at getting the white stuff; the white stuff is the make or break stuff.

You'll be fine.

The deadline to apply is quickly approaching.

How many points does it take for a mule deer hunt on public land where glassing opportunites are excellent? It doesn't need to be a rut hunt, and getting stuck in the snow makes me nervous.

Can you apply for a point without applying for a hunt this year?

BP: I can only speak to deer points. I pay $375ish and get back $325ish a few months later. So about $50 for a point. You have to pay upfront unless its changed.

I think they keep $40 unless you had a a license the prior year and $10 for the habitat stamp. It was $389 to apply this year.

My nephews will be drawing elk and deer tags in Colorado this year.  If the points do not jump too much.  They have been waiting for the season to be late where it can hit the rut.  We have consistently been taking really good bulls and nice bucks.  We do it all DIY and public land.
