My brother wants to do the Big C...
« on: March 09, 2016, 09:53:04 PM »
on Monday.  Anybody have a report.  We usually launch at the mouth of the Lewis, and fish around St. Helens.  Tips, tactics, or honey holes?   ;D
Hunt hard and shoot straight!

Word is over on ifish is that the Willamette is gonna muddy up pretty quickly and the only worth while fishing will be above the mouth. I have not been on the river yet this year to know for myself. I did read a report from a guide in the Kalama area who had been having decent success recently. Good luck if you go. I will be there rain or shine for the last 3 weekends before the scheduled closing date.

Yep same for me, last few weekends it is open, unless you got time to chill, granted a fish here and there is being taken for sure, I like water a few degrees warmer....  If you go expect dirty water, ride the shoreline, but watch for plunkers and give them the right away as they only have so many holes to fish anyhow...

Few fish showing in the Lewis, I might anchor up right at the old deadline at the mouth and walk my baits into the drop off in front. That or head straight across and see if I can chart some off the OR side in close. Goodluck

Worth fishn if your local, but if traveling and counting on catching fish than you might wait until the last 10 days of the month.  A few being picked up but will get better.  Water on Oregon side below Mult. Chan.  is fishing fine at the moment.  Headed out here in a hour or so to give it a go.
