Here is a link to the symptoms http://www.cdc.gov/tularemia/signssymptoms/index.htmlProbably nothing to worry about unless the beaver looked sick. If you see the doctor about any sickness you should tell them you handle wildlife.
I have stuck, cut and gouged myself so many times and never caught anything off beaver.I did get really sick from a bobcat one time, Cat Scratch Fever. Don't laugh, it's a real illness and you don't want it.

Doctor told me viral. Read up it after all these years. Maybe I did not have cat scratch fever. What ever it was I got it off a bobcat and the symptoms were much worse then the literature describes. It took 8 weeks to get over it. 3 hospital visits. It came in three stages about two weeks apart. 1st was swelling in the arm and then pleurisy. Arm was swelled tight for a week.2nd was severe nausea and high temp. Seems I remember 105.3rd was severe headaches. Dr gave me some enormous pills for them.hand was swelled up the whole time.
