SFW-Idaho??
« on: March 11, 2016, 10:58:28 AM »
I copied this from another forum. If you hunt Idaho you might want to sign this petition to try and put a stop to this.

Idaho's legislators are trying to force Idaho fish and game to add 12 auction/governors tags up for bid, (these tags are being pulled from the non-resident quota)
Currently Idaho only has one governors/auction tag, it's a big horn sheep tag.
This bill SB 1236 is being pushed through on the fast track, very little effort has been made to collect public input on this bill.
Most of us here in Idaho have watched in disbelief as to what happened to you folks in Utah.
I would have to say it's a pretty safe bet that SFW is playing a major role in pushing for these tags, if this bill goes through these tags will be distributed to certain sportsman groups that meet the proper criteria.

I have started an online petition,
https://www.change.org/p/dell-raybould-stop-idaho-s-mandatory-governor-s-hunting-tags-before-it-s-to-late?recruiter=503807363&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
Pretty simple to click on the link, sign and pass it on to anybody you know or post on Facebook and other hunting sites,
Any support would be greatly appreciated.

SFW is no good for hunting imo. Surprised Washington hasn't followed Utah's lead yet.

What is SFW?

Sportsman For Fish and Wildlife. A group founded in Utah I believe. In Utah, SFW has been able to take several hundred tags out of the Non Resident draw system and raffle or auction them off during an Expo. The funds raised are supposed to go back to wildlife and habitat but they have not been required to disclose where the funds are going that are being raised at the expo. They have raised Millions of dollars over the past 10 years or more but we do not know where the money is going that has been raised from the sale of these tags. They tried to do the same thing in Arizona but luckily the outdoorsman were able to put a stop to it. It sounds like they are trying to get their foot in the door in Idaho.
