I've been wanting to go since i moved to Wenatchee.  I finally will have a boat.  I just need to secure a downrigger and I will be up there fumbling around trying to figure them out.

Chelan can be good, I like it, but if you want nice big Kokes go to Roosevelt!!! Add in catching nice size trout at the same time, or switching up and going after Walleyes,  for me Roosevelt cant be beat.

Thanks for the pointer.  That doesn't seem too far from Wenatchee.

Launch out of Spring canyon, use typical Koke gear, the fish are up near surface this time of year 15' to surface. 4-5 colors on leaded line with an orange jointed Rapala is my personal most consistent producer (non jointed works also) for both trout and kokes. Summertime with the jointed Rapala at 30-45" on the downrigger produces trout like crazy. I have gone to Roosevelt for a single day fishing trip plenty of times......I live in Pierce Co. 4 hrs. 1 way just for the day and its been worth it every time. If I lived in Wenatchee..... oboy.

All the boat launches and parks on Roosevelt are ran by National Park Service, launch fees are $8 for 1 week good at any launch or year pass for $45.
Being a reservoir the water levels go up and down so you need to check it as certain launches will close as the level drops.

A guy on the fishing forum is running guided Kokanee trips on Chelan right now.  He has been posting limits of fish just about daily.  Looks like the fishing is really good right now.
