Looking for lab breeder
« on: March 15, 2016, 07:14:20 PM »
After having two labs for 12 years family really ready for another dog.  Looking for a quality breeder.  My son is hoping for a male chocolate lab. Personally I want a female blonde lab, wife is open to either choices.  Our last blonde lab was awesome and frankly the best lab we ever had. However not breeding anymore.

Thanks for the feedback

What are you looking to do with your dog? Pet? Hunting partner? Hunt tests?

Search function will probably turn
up the following WA breeders...

Wind River Labs
Rattlin Ridge
Ireland Farms

For blacks or yellows check with Bryant and Cindy Meyer at Rocking M out of Spanaway, great family dogs and hunting dogs.

You might want to look into Ireland Farms.  Warren is a very easy breeder to work with as well.  I have a chocolate out of his stock.  She is a great family dog and an exceptional retriever for both upland and waterfowl.  I know of two other Ireland Farm labs locally that have grown up to be great hunters as well.

Another option is to talk to as many pro trainers as you can. They know who is breeding high quality pups of accomplished parents that aren't out of the usual breeders. That's what I will do next time around.

Teresa at kingsland Labrador is very good, there line has been amazing for us and friends that have gone there. She is in south hill Puyallup.  Look at them on the net, over 30+ years of experience.  Very loving dogs, smart and even have dock jumping champions.  Our dog could leap a mile when he was younger.

White Chocolate labs? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I would steer clear of the imbred "Specialty" dogs! Labs come in three colors and that's it. Call Warren at Ireland as mentioned above. He'll help you out or point you in the right direction.

Several really great breeders mentioned.

Whatever you do, please please make sure you buy from a breeder who does health clearances.

I know pretty much all of the breeders that were listed. Most of them are great and do their clearances and offer a TWO YEAR (or more) health guarantee.

Several of Warren's chocolate dogs that he is breeding have come from me. We have worked together for years.
