I thought you meant 3-5 feet by shallow.

It hits 40' in some places, 42' being the deepest, I believe. Lots of water in the 20s.

A simple rule is "find the feed, find the fish".   Most bait isn't deep unless there's oxygen or high temperature issues.

CMoney knows the shallow area I'm referring to as he was out there last Spring.

Is anyone going out this weekend?  Plan was to hit Chelan but the kokanee bite has been a bit slow.  Thinking of changing gears.

All the homeless people are starting to fish the mouth of crab creek where it runs into Moses lake so I'm assuming the bite is about to get good. I'll be out tomorrow and Saturday.
Nick

Ducks are not hard to hit, they are just easy to miss.

potholes was weird. heard people limited i only got 3 friday evening. but most people were only catching 13 14 15 inch wallys because the spawn was happening or had happened. big fish were more rare this weekend. i did end up limiting with smaller fish this weekend on Saturday though and caught a 27.5 lb carp and one 10 inch crappie.

Dang too bad we didn't go last weekend, we were there for the weekend the weekend before and I can't believe it we actually got skunked. No freaking walleye the whole time. We tried all our regular spots, weren't marking much.  Tried trolling the humps, tried back in crab creek, tried out in deeper humps jigging, tried back in the coulée, tried the shallow weeds beyond the bridge, perch point, disappointing but oh well it happens.

really? sorry to hear that man... timing and depth was HUGE two weeks ago.... we got 19 fish two weeks ago but they all came from 15 feet of water and only morning and evening. it was weird. now the water temps have warmed up enough that pretty much all the at least eater fish are biting but the big fish were absent for some reason for most people.
