They are just like mosquitoes worthless disease carring devil creatures. There are only 333 in Wyoming, it wouldn't be a problem at all to get them all in 1-2 seasons. It has been done before with much less effective means than we have available now.

Trapping and poisoning was much more effective and there's no way we'll be allowed to poison these days. Wolves will never disappear again.

I would've, but hadn't seen this thread yet. This is what wolves do. I guess I don't understand the point of this thread? Wolves will kill elk whether the wolves are "managed" or not. Does the fact that they sometimes kill more than they can eat mean that we should eliminate wolves entirely? Is that the point of this thread?yup, kill them all! Plenty of them in Canada and Alaska, we don't need them in the lower 48.

You watch, one by one the herds will get protected as ending hunting is the single biggest event they can control to slow decline once it gets critical. End hunting, take guns........All part of the plan.

Quote from: idahohuntr on March 24, 2016, 11:27:48 AMIts a big mistake for hunters to anthropomorphize predation of elk by wolves...talk population level impacts - not what a horrible tragedy it is for a pregnant cow elk to be killed...those who do are playing right into the anti's hands in perpetuating their message to non-hunters. anthropomorphize-the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or objectReally? As more people see the destruction that wolves are and have been causing the less wolves are liked, the same goes for state agencies like WDFW who lie and refuse to control wolves. As far as the USFWS and WDFW's "environmental groups" lawyers who are doing their bidding, anything hunters etc. say means absolutely nothing in the process of wolf management/control. As many have already stated, wolf control will have to come from the public. Your statement is totally ludicrous….

Trophy how long do you think until wolves are running through the elk and deer herds in Kapowsin?honestly, if they aren't there now it won't be long. Scouting at crystal last year I talked with a gentleman that was on horses and spent the night at a lake by Norse peak, he saw a big wolf chasing two cows. As the crow flies, that's not that far from the kapowsin area.

This strategy of anthropomorphizing wolf predation backfires on hunters - how do you sell this "evil wolf for killing a pregnant elk and ripping out its fetus" argument as bad/wrong/evil to non-hunting voters - but turn around and support something like late season cow tags - the shooting of a pregnant elk where the hunter most likely cuts open the elk and removes the fetus and leaves it in a pile of guts? Hunters need to focus on population level impacts and general wildlife management at the population level - not gory details of wolves being evil because they kill poor pregnant elk and rip out their fetus....that argument perpetuates the anti's strategy and all their Disney movie story lines.

I read through the entire thread and haven't seen anyone anthropomorphizing wolf predation. You seem to be accusing the wrong people at least so far on this thread. Maybe I missed a line somewhere but it looks like you are the first and only one to use the moral word "evil" in connection with wolves. I don't have to attribute human feelings nor morality to either elk or wolves to be disappointed that wolves killed that many elk in a short span of time.
