Sorry dude, couldnt resist.

You are looking for a call called a raccoon squaller. Makes a hell of a lot of noise. I think in daylight, alot of other calls can get them to stick their little furry heads up.

Personally, in my neighbor hood, if you shake a box of catfood, they come a runnin!

I have been doing quite a bit of coon hunting in the last couple weeks.  It is way more fun than i thought it would be.  My buddy got a new hound.  The first couple nights there was no snow so we spotlighted some orchards tell we saw some and turned the dog loose.  A couple days ago we got some snow so we drove the roads looking for fresh tracks then let the dogs go.  really fun.  Don't know how you would do it without a dog though?

A bird in distress call along waterways is a very productive call for coons.  Woodpecker in distress and others.  They come in pretty aggressive.

I went once when I was still in higschool back in Southern Illinois. . .we hunted at night with dogs and a .22. . .it was an all night affair and it was hard work. . .we were hiking the old reclaimed stripcuts so it was ALL hills. . .UP and DOWN,UP and DOWN!!!

. . .but we did get a couple of coons and that made it fun. . .

I love hunting in the old strips pits back in MO.  That is also where I learned to trap as a teenager.

R U calling them. . .or using hounds. . .for coons. . .I honestly don't think it matters either way. . .but you definitely don't need to worry about it if you are running dogs. . .
