Any experience with bringing trophies back from Africa?
« on: March 26, 2016, 08:46:20 PM »
I've finally been notified that my 4 shoulder mounts will be shipping from South Africa.  Anyone have experience with bringing them through customs in Seattle?

You can do it yourself or use an agent. I used Coppersmith.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

They were recommended in the e-mail I received.  I will give them a call.

If you are not an outfitter or agent
Half the customs paper does not pertain to you
When i did it it was a little hassle but well worth it
But you have to be in touch with the the taxidermist for the chain of custody paperwork

Hope you have better luck than me.  After wait of a year and a half, three of the six animals I received where not the ones I killed.  Nothing I could do with a taxidermist on the other side of world.  I was sure I located them with some hunters from Alaska, but they weren't interested in swapping.
