One of our members just sent this to me and wanted me to put it in the newsletter.
I thought I would post it here first.
I love it when these kind of people get caught for their stupidity.

Couple plead guilty in anti-fur campaign spree

San Diego – Two anti-fur activists charged with waging a cross-country vandalism campaign have pleaded guilty to federal charges in San Diego.

The San Diego Union-Tribune said Joseph Buddenberg and Nicole Kissane each pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to violate the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. He’s expected to receive a two-year prison sentence and she’s expected to get six months.

Prosecutors say the Oakland couple vandalized a San Diego fur shop in 2013, spray painting it with the words “killer” and “murderer” and also vandalized the homes of the manager and her parents.

Authorities say the pair then drove to places including Montana, Idaho and Minnesota, where they targeted animal-product shops and freed thousands of mink from commercial farms.

In their plea bargain, the couple agreed to pay nearly $400,000 in restitution.

That's pretty bold, they got lucky they didn't end up on the back of a milk carton.

I wonder how many animals were "murdered" when all those mink were released into the wild. That certainly must've created quite the natural imbalance in that area.

Exactly what I was thinking. Reminds me of the same thing that happened in Startup at that mink farm. My uncle lives just down the road from there and he said the following weeks afterward there were dozens getting splattered daily on highway 2. You still see them very once in a while down by Wallace river.

If they don't pay they should be forced to work in a slaughter house nights or go back to jail.

They don't care if the farm mink die, as long as they aren't being "used".  Serious antifur activist types are literally painful to speak with.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I was referring to all the wildlife the mink would kill.

Pitiful is correct. Imagine stealing $400,000 from someone and getting 6 months in jail.

Restitution is a joke. The people that they stole from will never get that money. I know how it works. I was owed  restitution on only $2500 and it took 15 years to get paid.
The only thing they hold over them is they have report in to their Parole officer until they have paid it off. They should hold their feet to the fire, literally.
