I have had the same issue when it comes to bear hunting and the use of scent lures (not bait). I have called differant offices thorough out WA and have been told by everyone that "anything" that would attract a bear whether it be bait (edible) or scent lures (like ones used for deer) that can be applied to a scent wick or ones self (if they are wanting to be dinner) is illegal. The regs says, "The use of hounds and/or bait to hunt black bear is prohibited." What is actually considered bait? Is it something edible or something that will attract them that is not edible?I know this is another forum topic but need for exact clarification from WDFW is the same.
