I have had the same issue when it comes to bear hunting and the use of scent lures (not bait). I have called differant offices thorough out WA and have been told by everyone that "anything" that would attract a bear whether it be bait (edible) or scent lures (like ones used for deer) that can be applied to a scent wick or ones self (if they are wanting to be dinner) is illegal. The regs says, "The use of hounds and/or bait to hunt black bear is prohibited." What is actually considered bait? Is it something edible or something that will attract them that is not edible?

I know this is another forum topic but need for exact clarification from WDFW is the same.
God Bless,
Scott

that's BS.  The law about baiting was about physically hauling out food sources and maintaining them to attrack bears for harvest.  Using scent isn't the same thing.  What, are they going to outlaw fishing lures and duck decoys?!  Sorry, I'm in a mood about this.

I use the Gobbler Guillotine along with the recamended arrows and I LOVE IT  :whoo: You need to get in close 20 yards or less but it flies like a field point and is lethal when hit. I shoot the 125 grain. A bit pricey but worth it I believe.

I was told that you have to shoot this 3 foot arrow, and totally resight your bow.  ...Not so?

might try one this year then...  I was pretty frustrated when I lost those 2 birds a couple of year ago.

The Gobbler Guillotine is a bit pricey as are the arrows but I believe $$$ is no object when it comes to a quick and (in this case not so...) clean kill. I have never lost a bird but have tagged another hunters lost bird.

WAC 232.12.054

     (g) It is unlawful to hunt big game animals with a broadhead blade unless the broadhead is unbarbed and completely closed at the back end of the blade or blades by a smooth, unbroken surface starting at maximum blade width forming a smooth line toward the feather end of the shaft and such line does not angle toward the point.

That is the only reg about broad heads and nothing states anything about small game or turkeys, A buddy at the WDFW found this one for me and says he uses expandables himself. FYI

If they tried to nail anyone on this as illegal I don't think as many others here, that they would have a case.

I'm using them

I'm using the Rage two blade to give me a 2 inch wide cut. I haven't shot anything with them yet but I like the wide swath it'll leave?
