Searching for a spot
« on: April 12, 2016, 08:09:28 AM »
Last year was my first time hunting and I never got a chance to hunt turkey, so this year will be my first time.  I wanted to be on the East side of Washington  for the opener on Friday (I'm near Seattle).  I thought I had a place on public land all picked out on Google Maps but I found out yesterday it still has about 5 feet of snow.  Now I'm struggling to find a place.  I'd appreciate any help on where to find a public area.  I'm not trying to find your favorite spot, just a general area.  Thanks

I was looking there, plus Chewelah or anywhere near there.  That was the plan but I'm pretty much game for anywhere on the East side because I'm also excited for the exploration/camping.

I would try to venture more towards the cusick area if I were going.  Lots of birds on national forrest land and you can fish and drink beer on the river in the afternoon.  from my experience around chewelah permission to hunt private land is harder to attain, more hunters are on the birds on public land which makes them harder to hunt.  Luckily I have secured my private land hunting for the year so you won't catch me prowling the public lands.    good luck out there!

No kidding I have them walk thru the yard once in a while but don't know how SPD would feel about me using a 12 gauge in city limits I'm guessing it's frowned upon.  But if you could use a bow on private property and not get the cops called on you I'd totally try it.
