2015 Harvest Reports
« on: April 15, 2016, 11:41:21 PM »
Hmmmm, I bitched about this report coming out late every year as I was sitting around the virtual campfire.  Three days later, I'm put to shame?  Thanks WDFW!

700 more bucks in unit 121 and they were probably all spikes. Shame.

Looks like the goat tags holders in Naches and Bumping averaged about a month of hunting per kill!

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

The one that got me was from San Juan Island (archery, if I remember correctly - and one of those islands anyways).  The hunter days per deer was something like 0.8.   I'm still trying to wrap my head around that number - Did someone harvest a deer without even hunting?

No, nobody just shoots a spike.  Its always a "nice fat" spike.  Dont forget that qualifier, that makes it legit.

Those 700 were all dinks im sure, but dont forget about all the guys who grudgingly held out for a little basket rack 4x during the apr.  Most of them likely shot the first peckerhead they saw this year too.

You can get second deer permits up there pretty easy for archery. Someone probably killed 2 in a day

But that additional deer wouldn't be counted in the general season harvest.

True.  They probably have something screwed up.  I know a couple of the elk units I was looking at are 3 pt. min. Units and they show all cows and spikes being harvested in the units last year.
