Anyone have experience with the magpul bottom metal?
I installed one today in a adl rifle. Seems to feed well and function properly. Haven't shot it yet. Was kind of a bear to grind out all that cheese plastic on the stock tho.  :chuckle:
Never been a detachable mag guy on a bolt gun but this seems kinda cool.

That looks good, what round count does that magazine hold?  Was it designed for a cdl/bdl type stock and you then modified the adl stock?

It's a 5 round p mag. Will also accept other 7.62 p mags as well as aics mags.
I think it is actually made for the magpul stock, but will fit a bdl with some work. The mag well is about 1/8 inch or 3/16 wider than the factory bottom metal and there are some angles inside that would need opened up. All in all not a difficult install. But I'm glad I tried on a worthless adl stock before something nice. When I buy a better stock I'll most likely reinstall this set up in it as long as I don't have issues until then.

It's now a 6 round mag. Magpul left a snap off tab in the follower because some places have a 5 round limit for hunting. Break out the tab and its 6 round mag

Well done, looks great. A definitive improvement for the ADL factory set up. Did you sand the two contact points "Humps" out in the forend of the factory ADL stock? That's the first thing that goes if I shoot a donor ADL for a bit before I break it down for the action. It has always improved accuracy.

Had it out a few times before I left for vacation. No ftf with live ammo but my dummy's I had a few they were very short on oal and I think that is why. The second round would float forward in the mag and up a bit stopping ejection of first. On firing at the range I had no problems. I'll get it out more when I get home and back to real life.
