Last year, season was the same as this year.  Last year I didn't draw MS deer.  I bought the tag near the end of August.  It was a waste of money then (for the same reason as now).  My vent was to the WDFW that I am done with sh**ty seasons.  I am not going to give them their extra $$$ so I can camp on some suck mountain somewhere, and not see anything.  My buddies hunt Idaho, and I may just go there this year.

thanks for applying. so those of us who didn't draw and would have bought it can't use it

So, the op is supposed to look out for you and other hunters? He doesn`t owe any of us anything, he did what was best for him and good on him for doing so

for sure! it's not like you can look at the dates of the upcoming season  I'm done. I can't talk to you seriously without cussing or name calling. I think the op made an honest mistake because he didn't no this years dates were available before the draw

Why do they screw Muzzy hunters by moving the deer and elk hunting into 1 week.  I hunt totally different areas for each.  I can't pull my bow any more, I will hunt muzzy for elk, so no muzzy deer.  No need to buy the tag.

If it was still 1 week for deer, and a different week for elk, then game on.....

WDFW, you lost a tag purchase

Yeah I was going to buy a muzzy tag ,camp at elk area and drive for deer. Two weeks. Last year they burnt us. I think to move the bow season later. The bow hunters are louder than the muzzy guys.

Theyre louder because there are a lot more of them.  Smallest user group gets the smallest piece of the pie

The op has a valid point that seems to be escaping some on here,The fact that we all put in for these tags before the new regs come out every year does change some minds when they do come out.I will be buying my tag but for those that decide not to  :dunno: seems like its your right to me.  :twocents:

Oh Mah, you can legally shoot a Blacktail in you front yard, right now! Quite screwing with white guys!

It amazes me that people can be upset at someone for not buying a tag, who gives a crap?  Get over it!!!

I, after applying for 8 years, finally drew multi elk and because of that most likely won't be buying the multi deer tag that I was also drawn for.  Basically, I don't want to fork out that much money.  If I choose to not buy it you have your option to buy it later.  Sorry the drawn system screwed you but if me and the op decide not to buy our tags we have that choice.  Welcome to life, it's not fair...

I've had elk and blacktail and bear in my front and back yard.  Had a 5 pt bull in my driveway during archery season.

I hunt elk westside, and mule deer eastside

Hasn't ML deer and elk season been the same time for years now?

It used to be the same, then it wasn't, but now it is again.

I'm still unsure if the OP means that he's not buying ML Deer or MS Deer, as the thread title indicates.

I still do not understand why you put in for it  :dunno: not that you owe me an explanation

Since you knew the seasons before applying and knew that you didn't consider it a good deal...why not just put in for the point for when you might be able to archery hunt too?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Last year was the first time I have seen it (been muzzy hunting the last 4-5 years)

Before, it was 1 week hunting muleys, and then 1 week western elk for me.
