Not necessarily a fan but used to work security at the gorge when I was in college. Was Center stage security at his show and he put on a hell of a performance. Dude was tiny but could rock.

Flu? Really?

He had epilepsy as a child.  Had heard rumors over the past few months that maybe it was reappearing.  Not sure how or if the flu could compound that affliction.  But he was not a drug user from any reliable source I can find.  A lot of reliable sources to the contrary though.  Sounds like a pretty cool dude.  Definitely a gifted performer.  Gone way too soon!

I found it interesting that his former protégé passed away in February at age 57 also.  Of course that was due to complications from a kidney transplant after extensive drug use.   Anyone remember her performance on the tv show Highlander?  She got a bad rap for her acting, but she was a badarse in that episode!

Not sure I will give much attention to a Daily Mail claim of an overdose.  Although it's possible to overdose on just about anything.  Even over the counter cold and flu medications.  I'm content to wait for coroners report on this one.

Dunno who youre talking about, but if the new deal is the "57 club" it beats the hell out of the "27 club" that has so many members.

I saw her spread (pun intended) in Playboy many years ago. My Grandpa had a subscription and I used to read the pictures whenever we visited.

Not to be an a$$ in his passing but will we be calling him the "Artist Formerly Know as Price" again? I remember when he was called that after he changed his name to a symbol.

God Bless,
Scott

He did the name thing to get out from under a recording contract.  :chuckle:

The story behind the whole "Artist formerly known as Prince" and the symbol is rather fascinating.  Either he was super smart or he had some super smart people working for him.  Maybe both!  I wasn't a huge fan of the music, but I gained respect for Prince after that ordeal.  Good read if anyone likes intellectual property mysteries. :chuckle:
