I still have not heard from WEYCO on this. Waiting for reply from someone who can do something but I have talked with WDFW and the were unaware of this. I was told they would weigh in on our behalf.
For Macs B. The fisher recovery team at WDFW actually want us catching fisher. WSTA is a participating partner in the fisher recovery program. The way we can help is by catching documenting and releasing fisher. It is one way the fisher recovery program can see where and what type habitat fishers are using plus we get a visual inspection of an animal to gauge how healthy they are. If things go right we can also get DNA samples for the department.

Macs, I'm not sure what is so funny.  Per permit you could trap on their land.  Now they charge for access and don't allow trapping.  I don't see where that is funny.  Maybe it's a European thing? :chuckle:

Wasn't this you about six hours ago?  "I see this year that Weyerhaeuser is not allowing trapping on at least the Vail or St. Helens areas.  I believe that in the past that you could. "

Doesn't sound like you've actually done much actual trapping on Vail or St Helens property or you would have known if you could have in the past.  The FUNNY part is that you want to stir up a big forum argument over something that you obviously don't do.  I call that not having any skin in the game.  That's why you won't find me complaining about changes in ATV usage, because I don't run an ATV.  Same way with talk about increasing road taxes on electric cars, doesn't apply to me.

I trapped vail 2 years ago and St Helens last year.  The last two years the agreement you had to sign off on didn't say if you could trap or not, but i did anyway.  But this year it does say you can't.  Is it still funny?

I would think trapping will help the fisher.  Not only would the trapper be taking the fisher's competition for food but also the few fisher that could be caught would not only be released unharmed and after a free meal but also provide valuable info about the fisher and population growth.

yup if it affects one trapper it affects us all. We've lost too much to stand by and lose one more right, one more right, one more place to trap.  You should be standing with use as next week it could be your skin in the game
