BOB33, do things like this ever affect the ability to register as a guide or renew guide licenses?

if not is sure should!

What guide license are you referring to?

Bob33, that would look great posted on his FB page!
Birddogdad, I don't think WA has an "outfitter license".  They may have a "registration" or something of the sort.

No guide license needed to be an outfitter in WA.

But he might have one for other states, I was just curious if you knew if he actually had a true guide license to his name.

Oh, he's a *censored* outfitter alright!  No doubt about that.
What he has going for him is that he's the only game in town if you want to hunt a free ranging 350+ Roosevelt elk or a 170 BT (that would be Burnworth Tale) in the Mt Adams Wilderness.  He's got that action locked up.

He'd have to be permitted by USFS to be guiding in a federal wilderness area.

I'm not sure if he guides inside the Wilderness Area, but he advertises that he has private land hunting adjacent to the Mt Adams Wilderness Area for Rosevelt elk & BT deer.

To do so legally, that is correct.

interesting that the state doesn't control or restrict this business with validations, courses and certifications. Guess its a great place to have this kind of business. Can build it on lies, false advertising, unethical practices and no recourse. Truly a buyer be ware situation!

Klickitat County Sheriff's Office
1 hr ·
The Klickitat County Sheriff's Office would like to remind everyone to be cautious of who's property you are on. It's turkey season and we are already having problems with trespassers. With our Posse being nearly 70 volunteers and our deputies and reserves being in the woods this time our year you never know where we will be.

On April 16, 2016 an off duty deputy was hunting north of Goldendale with family and friends on private property. The property being well posted. At daylight the deputy saw a white dodge truck pass by his location and within a minute the same truck came back northbound and parked along the road. The driver exited the truck and walked in the same direction as a turkey gobbling in his roost tree. The suspect later identified as Brian C. Lewis of Vancouver was armed with a shotgun.

The off duty deputy went and photographed his vehicle and waited for Lewis to exit the woods. After a short wait Lewis walked back to the truck and was confronted by the off duty deputy. The deputy was able to photograph him in the field.

Lewis was advised by the off duty deputy that he was trespassing. Lewis immediately said it was not what it looked like that he had seen a cougar chase down a fawn the prior night and he was there looking for the cougar that he was not turkey hunting. Lewis was dressed in full camouflage with a shotgun which is common for a turkey hunting.

The investigation has been turned over to the Washington Department of Fish and Game for unlawful hunting closed season and hunting while trespassing. Lewis is currently in custody for a probation violation stemming from this incident.

This is a reminder to all trespassers that you never know when law enforcement is in the woods. This is also a reminder to witnesses to take good pictures of people, license plates and vehicles.
