Turkey Vests

What kind are you using......likes and dislikes?

Mine's an older model (mid 90's) but I'm starting to reconsider the whole "vest" approach.  I used my Badlands Hypervent pack a couple years ago, fit up with my seat cushion and it just works better.  I don't like having my box calls up front where they tend to get banged around and squished agaisnt my thigh when I sit down against a tree.  And my slate/glass/alum friction calls clunk around when I walk.  I'd like a more snug arrangement for these and different placement for easy access when seated.  Big front pockets are pointless when you seated.  I think a lot of the newer vests are pretty nice though.  Just haven't looked them over much in recent years.

I also have a Badlands Hypervent I use for big game hunting....love it.  Have not thought about that application.  Been using a 10X vest from the 80's all these years and it works well, still like new, but like the looks of some of the newer vests and some of the features.

Anyone use one of these........

man those look nice...lol...I use 10x vests and love them too..I can still find them but they are getting harder.  I suggest a hot pink or bright orange fanny pack to carry your calls...that will be nice so we can see you coming!

Mossy Oak Super Elite III, have one for me and one for one of my kids... This year I will need another so we all match. 

  Crap, buying everything in three's is getting expensive!

I'll ask.  I'm working with Badlands on some new pack designs.  I don't think they make this anymore but it's possible to have them find one at a dealer somewhere.

I remember when the kids got old enough to hunt....much easier getting hunting stuff by the wife.....one for them, one for me.  Was kind of like making stealth purchases....lol.

Wac, I bought one of the taters, the one that had the holster like leg pockets, and tried on the tactial one , I found two things if you have(like I do) a little dunlap disease they are a little tight aroound the gravity induced sag And the pocket are pretty call specific where I liked the organization it hampered the quick up& move repositioning that can happen from time to time, the one I bought at least didn't have the oversized pockets for a rapid gathering instead I had to sit there wasting extra time putting everything back just so

Went to cabelas today and was looking at vests...really liked the tactical tat'r vest out of all of them that they offer...most of the time I like primos stuff but their vest seemed like less quality compaired to the others...

Bucklick Creek Lounger from Basspro.  IMHO the best Turkey Vest ever made from a functional perspective.  Unbelievably comfortable.  It does have some minor drawbacks but the (+) far and away make up for the (-).

I had straps sewn on the lazyboy..Its a little heavy but man it feels good after a long hike!  There about $350.00 new come in all kind of fabrics tweeds..etc..IF you pay alittle extra you can get the one with the rocker!LOL   

How much do your vests weigh...I am at 40-50 lbs...with all of the goodies I pack!
