ultra lite backpacking tent
« on: April 27, 2016, 10:44:54 AM »
Looking for some advice on one person ultralite backpacking tents.  My nephew is really pushing to be an eagle scout and he needs an ultra lite backpacking tent.  Weight is an issue as he has some health issues and needs something light weight.

hammock and a tarp/rain fly. I bet he has an uncle that could supply him at least the hammock.

If there is seamstress or seamster in the family, several yards of 1.1 or 1.5 oz silnylon and you can have a 1.5 lb tarp or tent for less than $100
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Just garage saled a whole table of camping stuff, turned out to be three lightweight tents, two of them high end mountaineering bivi tents. Third on middle of the scale bivi. I bought to make money, so I can't give, but I can make a good deal.

PM me an email or text number if you want pics.

He has the hammock but for some reason he is telling me he needs the tent..I think because he went on his first overnight excursion and it rained..

Go to a big 5.  Lots of tents for under $50.   Many are better than what we used as scouts growing up.
