I will say it was a west-side hunter, and the investigation is underway. Be careful out there!

Glad your ok.

But do you really think it made a difference if the shooter was from the West side or the East side???? :yike:
I sorry but that was an ignorant statement. :bash: I know lets start a westside vs eastside thread, just like the bow hunter against the muzzy hunter vs the modern firearm hunter. Your season is better than mine crap!! Terrible accident for sure and could have been a much worse outcome. Hope he pays ALL your medical bills.

soap box done :twocents:

I take it you don't live in eastern Washington.    :chuckle:

NOPE!  and don't like the inference that being from the westside makes me or anyone else a bad hunter. :twocents:

Terribly sorry for your ordeal! It's a shame that this happened to you!  It is clear that the hunter used poor judgment but where the guy is from isn't the root cause, C'mon now.  >:(

A few years ago I was nearly shot in the face from 35 yards.  With out a doubt the only reason I was not shot in the face with a load of 3 inch #6 shot was the turkey's head.  Pellets blew bark from behind my head, above my head and in front of my face.  The bird lay dead about 15 yards from me.  This was from a guy I was calling the turkey in for.....from the Eastside.  :)

A good reason not to have a two bird limit on the same day.  Although rare, it causes accidents like this and to a larger extent causes crippled birds.  :twocents:

On private land! That's some terrible luck, the good news is you are OK. Im glad no one was seriously injured. Hope that person never has any children. A good reminder to everyone we can never be too safe when we are using our firearms.

Glad you're all okay, but you can not tell a guy that it's not wise to hunt turkeys up hill. That's ridiculous. :twocents: Once again, glad to hear no major injuries occurred.

Sorry to read about this accident.....an lets be clear it was an accident. You not knowing there was another hunter because no one told you...I am thinking the land owners son didn't tell the guy you would be there either. I know you were hit with shot but.....didn't try to call anyone off until you and your brother missed the opportunity to shot to two different birds in front of you at 20 yards. Then you decide to say something... The shooter was no different than you, just trying to get a bird. Not hunting uphill...what is that all about. Lots of wrongs done here but not everything should be dropped on the "Westsider"....think this thru again... Glad your OK!....signed ...another one of those Westsiders!

How did the other hunter react when he found out he shot you?  Was any LE called?

I'm sorry to see that this happened and I hope you heal up well.
