Stone Glacier pack owners

Just a spin off of the pack thread to focus solely on the Stone Glacier pack, mostly the sky 7,400.   What accessories do you recommend, 3-way belt, swing out pockets??  What is a must have with the pack?  Thanks

I have the Sky 5100 and below are are my thoughts on the accessories that I have.

- Hip pocket - super handy as the pack is very minimal from an organization standpoint
- Load cell dry bag - really like this for meat hauling/organization as it fits perfectly on the load shelf can also be used as a general purpose dry bag when not hauling meat
- Hydro Sleeve - This is nice if you are using a hydration bladder, if you don't have this you will have to improvise a way to hang the bladder in your pack. I've done this with thin cord but it is a bit of pain to take in and out.
- Swing out pocket - Hosestly never use this thing. Just does not fit with how I organize my pack even when running the pack in bivy mode.
- 3 piece belt - I like it but have never tried the stock belt
- Webbing Keepers - I have not tried them but plan on trying them as there is a bunch of extra webbing that hangs off the pack particularly if it is not very full.

I plan on ordering the 5100 in the next couple months and I too would be interested in any SG input.

I have the sky archer 6200.

I have the hip belt pulls, which I think are mandatory to really cinch it down with heavy loads.
I have one camp pocket
I have one swing out pocket
I have a large hip pocket on both sides
I have the hydro holster, which I am not a fan of, but use occasionally, so I haven't taken it off the pack
I have the weapon sling, and think that is pretty awesome for hiking in and out, or when using trekking poles.  I want to try and see if I can use the top of the kifaru gun slinger with the bottom of the SG weapon sling.
The hydro sleeve arrived yesterday, which is something I wish I would have had last fall..

edit: I also have the dry cell bag, which I haven't used yet & I did buy the spotting scope pocket to attach to the outside, which is why I want to go to the sky 6900, as it is better configuration.  I saved it to use for a camp bag.  Perfect for a 1/5th of whiskey and summer sausage. lol

Here are my thoughts, which I have said before.  The sky talus 6900 is the perfect pack for size for long hunts, spotting scopes, and outside pockets.  My only complaint with the 6200, when in bivy mode is that I find myself using the main pocket more than I would like and would prefer to use the outside pocket of the sky talus 6900.

I am going to go for a serious hike on Sunday with some modest weight for shed hunting and scouting trip and will focus on what I want to change in bivy mode, since I haven't used it but a hand full of days since Thanksgiving.

yes, I went to look at it today. Felt good on, wish it had a couple more pockets on the outside but overall I'm was impressed. Definitely going to get a few accessories.

yep 6900 has the pockets on the outside in a similar position / format as the Exo3500 and 5500.

I do not use one I run the MSR 2L in between the frame and bag hung off the load lifter straps using mini carabiner

Weapon sling is money ! Large hip pockets work well for most everything you need quick access to

I'm gonna pick up a 6900 next week !
I tested mine last year at 113lbs for just over 6 miles and was very happy!

sounds good! Weapon sling is a must and hip pockets.

I have the 7400. I use the hip belt pouch, I love the weapon sling, I have the spotting scope pocket too. I also bought a really cheap water bottle holder that can strap anywhere on the pack(I think it's outdoor research brand and holds a 32 oz Gatorade bottle great.) I like to run the load shelf on the outside of the pack and strap my bow or clothes on. The spotting scope pocket works well when you have your bow strapped on.
