Miss my boy
« on: April 30, 2016, 03:38:05 PM »

Finally had to let him go.  Thirteen years old, but got to the point where he had six big seizures in one day, and that was on meds.  The good days were over for him, so we put him down, and he went peacefully.

Damn, I miss him.  It hurts.

It's not easy but I guess if it was then it wouldn't have been worth it. Sorry for your loss, I had to have my big male walker put down when I left for the army after high school , I didn't let him hunt anymore and let him become my lap dog..lol.. He saved me from a cougar one time, kept it from jumping on me, that cat ripped the back of my jacket and buck had him by the neck real quick, I couldn't be there when he was put down, kinda cowardly I know  , that was 20 plus years ago and I still miss him
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

His name was Einstein, and he lived up to it, in dog fashion.  Eins for short.

Shot hundreds of birds over him, from doves through geese, and he never refused a retrieve.  He had grit, but most importantly, he was my best friend.

Sorry for your loss WT.  They mean the world to a real dog person, especially when they are your hunting partner.  Hang in there

Always tough to lose one of our pals.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Sorry to hear, it sure is tough.

Thank you for sharing another story of a great dog.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Over time your feelings will start to change from being sad to remembering the great things you shared with him. Those memories are forever. Hang in there. best, jackson
