Honest mistakes happen, but there would be a conversation about correcting any damage if it were me.

Well, the good part is it's a Hoyt. Not much goes wrong with Hoyt limbs. But dry fires do tend to break the sealed bearings and/or the cable guard. Might be worth a trip to Enumclaw and have Denton check it out. Be sure to tell your buddy he's paying for the gas!

Bummer. Lesson - don't ever let anyone handle your tools unless you know they're experienced, and or you've gone over the rules.
This covers all from screwdrivers to bows.
It's like watching someone pick up a firearm and not checking the chamber.
Hope all is well with your bow.

Get it checked out, consider it a learning tax, and get to shooting it!

Dang that sucks! Glad that's all the damage that was done. Did the friend offer to help pay for the damages?

Help pay? He should pay for all of it. And gas/ferry money, too.

On the good side. You got time to get it. Checked and repaired before bow season.
Could have been the day before.

Not looking forward to that travel again but at least ill have my bow back. And ps isl if I mentioned this but i owned the bow all of 12hrs before this ordeal happend. This was my first up grade from my Bear Lights out.

Same thing happened to me a few years back with my pse dream season with omen cams. Hadn't even shot it. It wasn't a pretty sight. I ended up getting new limbs cams and strings.
