Tagged out on a unique bird.
« on: May 03, 2016, 10:14:45 PM »
So I scored on my first bird last Thursday  night.  I new it was a good bird when I shoot. When I went to look at him I was pretty surprised when I realized he had two beards. My first double beard. Hell yeah. He went 9 1/2 + 3 1/2. I was pumped and didn't know if my season could get any better

Sweet!  I got my first double beard as well this year.  With the same dimensions.  Awesome job.

Thanks guys but that was just the first one. I didn't know if I could top it this year.
I had a bearded hen on one of my cams. So I decided she would be my target before the season started. I have got tons of gobblers bit never a bearded hen. Hunted her hard the first week got close but never a shoot opportunity. Then the turkeys changed there travel pattern . so I quit hunting that area for about a week to let things settle down and get back to normal. I went in last Saturday to see if they started using there normal pattern again.  And after a week of no pressure they did. A new gobbler showed up also and my focus shifted from the bearded hen to the gobbler and Sunday night I made it happen. Myself personally I have never seen a turkey like this all the different colors the completely black wings and the white claws. It is by far the neatest bird I have ever shot. Hopefully somebody on here can give me some insight on it.

Where did you shoot it? Looks like it might be crossed with a domestic bronze breasted?

Cool bird,  it looks like it's missing any sort of barring which is crazy! Tail and wings both.
