Points for my son?
« on: May 10, 2016, 06:40:14 AM »
Does anyone know if there is a way I can get my son a wild ID number and apply just for points for special tags? He is one and as such hasn't completed hunters ed but a friend told me he had heard of some way to apply for points without it? Seems like a long shot but what better gift than to start banking him some points now right?

Sheep, moose, and goat points only. A hunting license is required for the other permits.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Get him a free fishing license and he will then have a wild id.  That is how I started it for my kids.

My kids were assigned a wild id number when I purchased the special permit applications. You'll need a social security number.

Yes completely taking advantage of this. I even called an set up social security numbers for  my little girls before they were born, then fired up a wild ID.

JP, which route did you choose to get the Wild ID setup. My daughter is now 2, and I don't want her to miss out on anymore points!

When I went to buy my applications online I chose the I don't have a wild ID yet and it sent me through the registration process. All you need is a social for it. I felt like the system was gonna kick me out when I entered 2' 6" and 35lbs lol. Pretty easy for me and I am so bad with computers my wife had to help me set up my account on here. I think the deadline is this week so don't miss out.

My son turned one 2 weeks ago and has 2 points already. My daughter is 3 and has 3 points. I felt the same way when signing them up especially with my son because he was a newborn last year, so I put in 8 lbs and 1' 9". :chuckle:

My boy will be 5 this summer, he will have 5pts this draw.  Just a few more years until he can hunt and apply for the real tags and be able to see those magical words "NOT SELECTED" just like his daddy and grandpa  :chuckle:

I have two kids, three and nine months both have fishing licenses, which has a wildlife ID on it. So when next year the application time comes I can use that number to submit them right? Or do I have to go through the process online like described above? Forgive the rookie question but I've never applied for point before and am planning on starting next year, as well as getting a head start on getting the kids I
