Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

So, there was 1 successful harvest out of 6 tags in 2015?

Reading the regs it says if you harvest a goat with the conflict tag, your done hunting goats( except raffle and auction tags).  It also encourages you to shoot any goat and says there may be few goats in those areas.  I think I will call tomorrow and move my choices to only ghost point, doesn't sound like a unit with trophy potential. Maybe it will change in the future?

Not an easy hunt.  Not many trails.  It can be a waiting game if the goats are in the parks.  There are some nice goats.

I live in this area. The goats are there. They love heather plants.  There are some trophy billies there. Some steep stuff. It could be a somewhat easy hunt or hard as can be, depending on luck, the animals and what your willing to shoot.

From what I have been told if you draw and don't take a goat you still keep your regular goat points and can still draw another goat tag. I think it would be worth going on the conflict hunt just to get out there and look at new country and have the experience of seeing some goats.

And blast some nature in front of the hikers. Then you can tell them you did it for their safety.

There are a few threads on here from at least 2 of the folks who had the tags in the last year or so.
Some good relevant info in those threads.

6 permits 3269 applicants in conflict reduction

21 permits 11,724 applicants in goat.

If you draw a conflict tag treat it like any other goat tag because the likelihood of drawing another tag is basically zero.  :twocents:
