The next Specialty Pistol project is getting close!
« on: May 22, 2016, 09:20:58 PM »
I boxed up all the parts for the 338/408 Improved pistol project to send off tomorrow.

It's going off to Wheeler Accuracy in Montana to get built. Who better to build a long range target gun than a guy who set a 1000 yard BR world record? I interviewed a couple different smiths to do the work and Alex was one of the only ones who didn't ask me the most irritating question I get asked with so many of my projects: "Why would you want that?" Plus it sounds like he may be able to have it done by mid summer.

Why would you want that?   :chuckle:
I mean why the right hand bolt action on a pistol?

Because I only had to wait 8 months for the right hand and a left hand would have been 14 months! :chuckle: Besides, when I get tired of this project it will be a lot easier to sell a right hand action than it will be to sell a left and version. That is unless you happen to know somebody else dumb enough to want a CheyTac pistol. ;)
