goose floaters to replace duck dekes?

Thinking I might switch up my spread this year, coming into this season with a blank slate, sold off/gave away all my dekes last year.
I was running between 12-48 mallard dekes, with a mix of wigeon and a pacific flyway pack mixed in before, and 4 older goose floaters. I noticed ducks seemed to want to land with the floaters quite often, and would sometimes work the mallards, just to turn and not commit.

This year, I was thinking of upping the goose floaters up to 12-18, with a dozen Dakota mallards, and some wigeon maybe.

Anyone run a similar setup? Am I not gonna have enough geese to be worthwhile? My other thought was 2 dozen Dakota mallards, with 6-12 wigeon mixed in.

If I'm hunting out of my boat I never hunt less than 12 goose decoys. I like them because they really stand out and I agree that it does feel like mallard really like them. I have about 6 dozen goose floaters right now and plan on trying to put them all out on a couple hunts this year. Normally when thinking about what decoys to use I try to imagine what everyone else is using. If people are throwing 3 dozen mallards, I use 2 dozen geese and 3 dozen wigeon. If I see people using 6 dozen mallards I use 8 mallards all on a jerk cord. I think being different than everyone else helps but who knows maybe it doesn't at all.

Geese seem to be a good confidence decoy, and I find if you do something different than everyone else it  seems to help...

So what is a lower price goose floater that is decent,  I know you get what you pay for, buy I'd like to keep it close to 100$/6, unless that's not feasible

Look on Rodgers sporting goods.  They seem to have some of the best pricing around on them.  Everywhere you go locally seems to have varying pricing on them if you can locate them otherwise.  Another option is to look for used and you can probably get them in the price range you are looking for.

I wouldn't sell all your duck floaters yet. I hunt goose decoys when targeting geese and the ducks work to the call more than to the decoys. Goose decoys  increase visibility but I don't consider them superior to duck decoys at all.
