Looking for advice on brush guards .

Well with my last two vehicles taking substantial damage due to ungulates decided to commit suicide by bumper, I'm looking at adding a brush guard to my new rig.
Anyone have any experience on what to look for or brand preferences? Thanks in advance .

Bumpers are kinda expensive. Im a DYI kinda guy and have acess to a welder so I may be getting one of these for my dodge.... they have them for many full sized makes made in MT

I had an arb on my tacoma and it took a hit from a deer at 60mph and all it did was bend the license plate. I have a ranch hand on 2015 dodge i think i paid right at $1200 for mine from a place in spokane bolted right up no problems or complaints about ranch hand from this guy

If you want to beef up your front end, replace the stock bumper with a steel bumper like mentioned above. The bolt on brush guards are just that, brush guards, not elk guards. They won't stand up to hitting a deer or elk, instead they will get shoved into the front end of your truck causing even more damage.

Clearly elk should not be drinking while crossing dangerous roads.  I think we need a PSA about this....get those elk some help for their drinking problems.

What is that sitting by the rump (not the beer can, the other thing)?

Drivers side headlight, trooper kicked it and it ended up down there.
(FYI the beer can was there previous to collision)

I think the elk was drinking beer.  Thus, the collision.
