Barnes musket boolits...

Ever use em? How'd they work on Bulls ? Accuracy? Gonna try some this year, tired of the 405 powerbelts.

I shoot the Barnes Expander Mz in my .54.  I have used both the 275 grain and the 325 grain.  the 325 grain stabilizes and flies a little more consistently.  I have shot a bull and a buck with them and very pleased.  With that said I wouldn't rule out the Knight bloodlines or the Lehigh controlled fracturing bullets.

The 325's shoot very well, and when they expand they make a broad head size path through the lungs with the expanding pedals of copper.

:yeah: Me and my family have killed well north of 20 animals with the barnes muzzleloader bullets. Always had good luck. However I decided to play with the t-ez instead of my normal tmz last year. Much easier loading and still shoot great.

I shoot the TMZ.  They are "snug" going down my Knight bighorn.

I bought the special sabots from Knight, and they go down eazy

I shot my bull bedded at 67 yards, and it just rolled over dead.

BEAUTIFUL 6 petal mushroom.  I won't hunt with any other from now on

295 gr TMZ, 50 cal

I used these and killed my first elk. Also it was the first time hunting with a muzzleloader I've always been archery.

Was able to put 2 shots on him. First shot was 50 yards and hit the shoulder and he couldn't walk with that and hoof rot in the back so was able to reload walk down the hill and shoot again. The other bull that was a 5x5 and he walked away slowly.

I use the 325 gr also with the same results.  Went clean through a broadside bull two years ago at about 115 yards.

290 T-EZ for our .50 Bighorns.  Deadly, deadly, deadly.  We've killed about 15 animals over the last 6 years with them.  All bullets either recovered in the far side hide, or exited after leaving a baseball-sized wound channel.  The only (minor) downside is that they tend to tumble around in the critter.  My buddy shot a broadside deer right in the boiler room, and recovered the bullet from the far side hindquarter.  As others have noted, the wound channel from those petals is impressive.

:yeah:

I tried the TMZ's, they shoot great, but in both my TC Black Diamond and my Knight Mountinier they are just a pain in the @$$ to load!
I switched to the T-EZ's in 290gr and just love em. They shoot great, nice tight groups with 130grs of powder and I have taken 2 elk and and several deer with them.

I recommend the T-EZ's to all of my buddies.
