Can’t trust my cams
« on: May 25, 2016, 01:43:05 PM »
I suspected that I wasn’t catching a lot of activity on a couple of my cameras so I set 2 of them up pointing at each other.  Sure enough camera A gets a photo of camera B with an elk clearly in front of it but no photo on cam B.

Not sure what to do to fix this problem other than toss camera B.

Change the sensitivity setting.....new batteries....try a different set card....if none of that works....toss it!!

I've had issues with SD cards from one cam not working in another.  Are both your camera's the same make and model?

Cam A is a Primos
Cam B is a Tasco

One thing I do now that has eliminated pretty much all my camera issues is run the same card in the same camera.  I number all my cameras and number all my cards. Card 1 and always and only run in Camera 1, etc.  Each time a card is put into a new camera it is formatted.  Sometimes this jacks up cards and they wont capture or store pictures.  I have zero issues now with pictures.  I also do not run cards in different computers/tablets.  Never mix a Mac with a PC when viewing the cards.

I reformat the chip to the cam every time I switch it out. I have 5 cams and all my chips get swapped between them. You should have the ability to format the chip in the camera. This also deletes all old photos on the chip as well so I have a clean chip. I have never had an issue. Only problem I have on 2 of my cams which are the same type is they like to take pictures of shadows at certain times of day..... even when I turn the sensitivity all the way down. So I always end up with 1/4 plank pics on those.
