Washington Carp Records. What's Yours?
« on: May 28, 2016, 02:05:47 PM »
Got to do a little bow fishing. Got my biggest yet. 16 lbs 10 oz. I know they get bigger. What a blast though. 22 carp in about 3 hours of fishing. Could have got more without all the misses. :chuckle:.

Just noticed this was in the bow fishing section and this was caught on rod and reel. Sorry.

Crab/crawfish bait. Coyote bait. That's what I do. What do others do.

During the spawn 13 years ago, I got three with one shot.  What a gaggle that was trying to pull them in.

Pretty sure I broke 40lbs, but it's been so long ago and I've got no evidence to support that claim so I'll just say as big or bigger than anything posted here thus far  ;)

I do miss bowfishing for them on the Roosevelt  >:(    really really dislike the park service  >:(

It's a park service federal thing not WDFW, they got tired of seeing all the rotting carp on the banks and closed it down.

This will melt your brain

What does a guy do with 22 dead carp?

They make great fertilizer buried in a garden or flower bed.

Tangent:   In Budapest at a celebration dinner with friends, all of the Brits, French etc. were delighted to find carp on the menu.  They all ordered carp and I ordered steak.  One Brit pestered me as to why I did not order carp, and after brushing him off a couple of times I replied, " Where I live we have fresh salmon, fresh halibut, and we bury carp in the garden for fertilizer."

Some huge carp pictured here.  WTG!
