Drew California X-3A for Deer
« on: June 14, 2016, 08:33:30 PM »
Put in as partners with someone who had 12 Pts.  Never hunted California but this is a limited tag unit and I've seen some good photos of bucks taken in the past. Didn't draw in Washington so at least I have something to forward to.

California has some really nice deer! I assume that's a blacktail area?

I just moved to San Diego last year and didn't draw a deer tag this year. Going to buy my OTC D-16 tag... Big bucks down here are 2/3points.. I see lots of pix from the local hunters here and they're pretty small deer in Socal. I looked into them and looks like they are classified as southern desert  mule deer. Public land is also a huge challenge down here.. Luckily AZ is a short drive (6-8 hrs) for some good mulie/Coues/Javelina hunting.. !
