Researching new bows
« on: May 31, 2016, 08:08:25 PM »
About a month ago I posted on here about getting my bow switched to shoot left handed. You guys educated me, which I appreciate so I didn't look like an idiot at a store.  So, I've been researching new left handed bows. I've mainly been looking at Sportsman's Warehouse & online because my driving is very limited, which makes it real tough to get to a place like the Nockpoint. The three I'm considering are a Diamond Edge (?), PSE, Hoyt Ignite or Bear. They're all in about the $380 range. I know this $$ doesn't get me the newest, fastest, quietest, etc, but I'm not able to work, so money is real real tight. My main goal is to be in the woods this fall hunting with a bow. Does anyone have any input on the bows I listed and their suitability for hunting?

I apreciate any advice.

I had a PSE bow as my first bow and loved it. I still regret selling it some days it was a basic model PSE fire flite but that was back in 2004-ish I think. I would give them a look, also my buddy shoots a Bear and he loves his. Shoot the few they have and pick your favorite. Welcome to archery!

Check out some of the archery stores on EBay. They often have some good deals on previous years bows and bows packages. I have bought a few bows off eBay and had good results.
They will set up your bow for your draw length too.

If you are set on buying new go for it but there are a lot of bows on archerytalk and other sites that are used and in almost perfect condition for half the price as new. You should be able to find a 3 or 4 year old pro line now in your price range and lots will come with goodies..

I currently have a left handed Bear Attitude and I love it. I would recommend Bear out of the choices you have listed. They are light, shoot fast, and easy to tune and sight in.

You're left handed?

That explains a lot.  :chuckle:
