I have a good friend up in Marion, MT that raises Smokey River Blueticks, my favorite type.  If that is not too far I can get a hold of him if you want and see if he has any pups?

Would these make good family dogs?  I like the breed but likely wouldn't use them for hunting, just curious really.
I know I've lost it, let me know if you come across it

I'd love another one. It's actually for someone I know. And I doubt they are interested enough to put much effort. Just thought I'd ask incase there was some close to Yakima and cheap. Doesn't sound like it would be used for hunting so not a big deal
I have thought about breeding mine
Mine makes a awesome family dog and hunting dog.

I will check with him and let you know, they are top notch bobcat and lion dogs.

No, he only sells his pups to cat hunting homes.  Generally they do not make good family pets unless you can really wear them out every day, otherwise they tend to have a lot of bad behavior from all the excess energy they have.

Well really those kinds of dogs really need to be in a hunting home.
Your right, normally they don't from what I hear. But ours has been around our kids since they were born, slept in bonus room in winter. And today played with my girls in the sprinkler. I've been lucky. I'd love to get a one from that guy, but I think I'll breed mine here soon

For a family dog they probably wont be as easy as a Lab but I have a bluetick that will hunt and is the best family dog I've ever had. Wouldn't part with that dog for any amount of money.
