Heading to bird dog heaven... Not "that" heaven!
« on: May 22, 2016, 02:44:26 PM »
The one where Kansas, Nebraska, SD, and MT are all within an easy 8hr drive or less.  After 9 years of living in the South we are heading back out West, where we will be calling Colorado home.  While I will miss the bird dog culture of the South, and all the great trials, I will welcome the ability to drive to KS or NE in 4hrs, and to hunt pheasant and quail in CO.  While it will be a little further to go to trials, we will be closer to the big Wild bird Championships like the Chicken Championship in NE.  Plus, summer camp will be an easy drive so I can spend more time in the prairies during summer running my dogs at camp. To say I'm excited to leave the South is an understatement, but I will miss the quail hunting.

Congrats on your move!  Definitely a good place to be.  Easier access to the prairies is a good thing.  The mountains will be nice too. :)

Well, on the plus side you will be closer to a few 'spaniel' triails  ;)
