Offset stabilizer for hunting ?
« on: June 03, 2016, 11:17:23 AM »
I've seen a few more guys using offset stabilizers for hunting purposes.  Anyone have experience or recommend one? I currently have a limbsaver stab out front. Best to just get an adapter and add a rear or get a whole new set up? Would like the quick disconnect if possible for eases of transport. Thanks

Or are you not talking about a back bar?

I think he's talking about the one like the Stoker SS stabilizers. Makes the stab mount to one side or the other to offset your quiver and you can slide the bar in the mount forwards or back to account for your sight. Cool idea but I have never shot using one.

I'm running the torque buster stab. They are cheaper but the quality seems to be great and the lengths are the same price for a 14" to a 8"

I recently put an Archery 365 SBS on my pse freak SP. The application makes sense, it's easily adjusted to balance the bow for offsetting the quiver and sight weight, while also adding more overall weight to increase holding stability.

That being said the added weight and increased dimensions of the whole bow package are fine on the range, but are negatives in the field while hunting. Whether those negatives are of any significance is really subject to the individual with regard to how and where you hunt...and probably how much you believe it aids your accuracy.

I doubt I'll have mine on when I go elk hunting, but I'll carry that setup while scouting some more before deciding.
