Cherry Valley training
« on: June 07, 2016, 07:53:18 AM »
I went to cherry valley release site to do some training but the grass is 5 foot high in the training area. Are they going to mow it soon?  Can I plant birds and train by the old prison farm?

The only training area that Brian Boehm wants you to be on is a rectangle just West of the parking lot on the Crescent lake DFW site.

If you're a dog walker, feel free to do whatever in the hell you want (like everyone else does) , but if you're there to actually train a dog you must use a very small area with no cover.

Pretty sure it's a current/constant/reoccurring bone of contention. They don't mow it regularly. I believe Happy Gilmore posted some info last year regarding the funding not being there to maintain it. I "think" they got a volunteer to mow it at some point last  year but I'm not sure.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Dont get caught trying to train anywhere other than the designated spot on Crescent. The warden is real serious about it this year. You cant even have a off leash dog on any of the release sites or you can be ticketed. Seen it happen twice this year already
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!
