Jordan Lakes

After I get back from my 8 month long deployment I want to hit up the Jordan lakes for a weekend of just fishing, and enjoying some much needed solitude.  Looking online I cant seem to find any info about the place expect from 2011 on WTA org.  Anyone been up there lately?  How is the trailhead heading to the Jordan and granite lakes?

I'm pretty sure the road is blocked off just past the Slide lake trailhead. So that adds a few miles to the hike. Not a big deal though.

Buddy of mine tried to hike to Jordan from Slide Lake last week via the ridge in between. The entire northern slope of that ridge is still snow covered. The ice on Upper Jordan is just breaking up. I think hiking from the Slide trailhead up the old grade (which is definitely blocked off) is probably the better bet but have never personally done it.

Now if someone knows how to get to Granite Lakes in a day....

Done a few hikes at slide lake and the road does end right after the bridge.  Still working on buying a GPS unit, but don't want to solely rely on technology to get somewhere.  Is there any type of trail left to follow or has it become overgrown?

  Do you mean the ridge in-between Enjar and Slide lake?  Granite lakes is another bucket list lake of mine.  If its withing a few miles of the Jordan lakes then that will be added to the trip

It's been around 10 years since I've been to those lakes so I can't really say if it is overgrown. There was a well established trail at that time.

  Just found it, looks pretty close to the road, but last year when I was up there with my kids that road was all choked out with alders.

Here's my pics from the very top of the ridge between Slide and Jordan lakes last Wednesday (6/1/16).  The pics are take from about 6300'.  The ridge saddle is about 1000' lower.  I think that's the fastest way into Jordan lakes when there is no snow and you don't have a bike to take you out to the end of the closed road.

Way longer, plus boulder creek washed the road out terrible were you cross it. And the trees and brush took over the road bed.

I hiked up the road a few years ago past slide. Found the trail to Jordan, but only followed it a little ways. Lots of blow downs and was running out of time, but wasn't too terrible to follow been wanting to do it again, but it would definitely be an overnight trip.

No sign. Some ribbon, it's right by an old gate.
