USFS proposed travel management plan
« on: June 08, 2016, 05:30:32 AM »
Well its out the Draft EA for Motorized Travel Management Available for Review is at:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=46467
There are several alternatives for Chelan, Cle Elm, Entiat, Methow, Naches, Tonasket, Wenatchee ranger districts. Of coarse this has to go thru the comment period, etc. If you want certain areas to be open to your hiking, ATV, motorcycle use make your comments heard. Enjoy

Maybe I’m not reading this correctly but there appear to be large gaps in the proposed WATV routes.  Are we supposed to ride a mile or so then load the machine and truck it to the next spot then ride some more?  Looks hosed up to me.

I also noticed that where the FS road goes through private land there is no designation, could it be the FS has no authority for that part of the road that passes through private land?

Request that all motorized vehicles should be allowed on all forest roads designated for motorized travel.

I also noticed that where the FS road goes through private land there is no designation, could it be the FS has no authority for that part of the road that passes through private land?

That may be a county road, in that case depending on the county, it may be open to all types of motorized travel already.

I'm referring to the white areas on the map I posted above.  These are private land "islands" but the FS road passes though them.

I've been watching this. I hope they don't change this as last year they opened them up and then closed them within a month. You can guess who had a part in blocking it but it wasn't us!

Then throw in the fact that they intend to close the Entiat to any access for 5 years after the fires.

Apparently maps aren't available yet. Hard to read the pdf versions, but the majority of the forest will be closed to cross country vehicle travel after the travel management goes into effect.

Also, I have began reading the wildlife portion of the environmental assessment and the topic on wolves is quite disturbing.

Well, the meetings are just open house type meeting.   Maps and PR by USFS rangers and other employee's.

IF your concerned about what is happening about future use of ATV's on YOUR forest, DO THE LINK and respond!!!

The other is by phone or snail mail.   :hello:

Looking at this District I suggest we vote for plan "D". The thing is people don't realize that a lot of the trails are cleared out by the motorcycle riders. Recently there was 2 work party weekends put together by the Coulee Riders to clear out trail like Foggy Dew, South Navarre, etc. Foggy dew was a mess with lots of down falls.
